How to apply for a 30-day student metro pass at reduced fares

Step 1: Get 4 passport photos for $5 at Costco store.

 

Step 2: Submit an application for a college/vocational monthly pass. You can download the application form from here - http://www.metro.net/riding/fares/collegevocational/

 

Step 3: Wait about 2-3 weeks to receive your Reduced Tap Card (yellow color) by mail if your application is approved.

 

Step 4: Once you receive your Reduced Tap Card, you can use it to apply for "Rider Relief Transportation Program" discount. It's $6 discount each month for a college student. The places you can go to apply are -

Call them first and ask their coupon distribution days and hours before you go.

 

Step 5: Once you get your student metro tap card and your discount coupon ($6), bring them to any metro pass sales outlet to purchase/load your monthly pass. I know there is one located on Topanga Canyon Blvd. Pierce College Business Office probably can do it as well.
